Respite Support & Preparation – Pricing

Every family’s situation is different. Some people only need help getting organised, while others need hands-on nursing support during the respite stay as well. We separate these so you only ever pay for what you truly need.

All services are discussed with you first and confirmed in writing before anything begins.

Respite Preparation & Support (Before Admission)

This is for families who want help getting everything organised before respite, including paperwork, medications, care coordination and handover.

From $790 – $1,290 + GST
(final price depends on complexity and time required)

This may include:

• RN intake and planning

• Support at the respite admission interview (if desired)

• Gathering medical and care information

• Coordination with GP, pharmacy and health services

• Medication organisation and pharmacy communication

• RN handover to the respite facility

• Family meeting for shared understanding

• Written summary of what’s been organised and who is responsible

Optional Nursing Support During Respite

If your loved one still needs support while staying in the nursing home, this can be added as needed.

Billed at $170 per hour + GST
(or quoted as a capped support package if appropriate)

This may include:

• Wound care

• Escort to blood tests, specialist appointments or hospital day clinics

• Support and advocacy during appointments

• A familiar visitor for your loved one during respite

• Help to attend visits if injury, fatigue or mobility make it difficult to get there alone

• Medication communication with hospital specialists and facility nurses

Personalised Respite Information Booklet (Optional Add-On)

A clear, personalised booklet prepared for your loved one, your family and the respite facility.

From $320 – $520 + GST

Includes:

• Medical summary

• Medication list

• Advance care documents (if available)

• Hospital and admission preferences

• Key contact numbers

• Nursing care plan instructions to support continuity of care before, during and after respite

This booklet helps prevent miscommunication and reduces stress during transitions.
